鉴别□□谷似稊，敬思名实绎天题。五千士竞雲章献，九万程争月路跻。识曲定从絃外赏，看花翻恐雾中迷。门墙桃李孙枝发，十载重来更满蹊（癸未道光三年春闱，忝与司衡之任，今岁，及门与分校者六人）。和咏斋朱士彦前辈春闱即事元韵，录请芝轩潘世恩太宰老夫子大人诲正。受业穆彰阿。
酬恩未补太仓稊（韩诗韩愈《南内朝贺归呈同官》：君恩太山重，不见酬稗稊），名姓先邀御笔题。人识苔岑同臭味（鹤舫穆彰阿、咏斋，庚申嘉庆五年同年，余与金溪戴敦元癸丑乾隆五十八年同榜），垣联奎斗绝攀跻。盟心敢忘三条苦，到眼终惭五色迷。却忆秋风持玉尺，漫夸李下本无蹊（嘉庆戊辰嘉庆十三年，予以吏部侍郎典试京兆，迄今二十四年矣）。和咏斋大司空韵。芝轩潘世恩。
按道光十二年壬辰科会试，正考官为潘世恩，副考官为戴敦元、穆彰阿与朱士彦。士彦作《壬辰春闱即事》，潘、戴、穆依韵和之。
传统仕宦的人际关系，以师生、同年、前後辈最为重要，正如世恩诗所谓“人识苔岑同臭味”。尽管，这只是一种偶然的因缘际会。
