宋人编《岁时杂咏》，以节令为次，分卷辑录。我素怕过节，逢辰则翻看此书，聊当应节。此书为各节安排篇幅，多为一、二卷，而寒食、上巳、七夕各占三卷，重阳五卷，篇幅最巨；中秋四卷，为亚军。其中，林光朝《中秋月夜》云：
玉露金风满桂枝，清光因此更华滋。
一年月色最明夜，千里人心共赏时。
万古传为新景象，幾人能出旧歌诗？
吟观莫厌终遥夜，来岁如今再一朝。
自古而今，每届嘉节，必有许多应景诗文出世，历时淘汰，万不存一。林氏因慨曰：“幾人能出旧歌诗”？但是，旋即他又作了自我安慰：写罢写罢，不但今年要写，明年今朝要写，万古如新，同志们要永不停笔的写下去。
