刺 客
本月《读书》载李零《中国历史上的恐怖主义——刺客和劫持》（待续），略举太史公刺客列传中五大天王——曹沫、专诸、豫让、聂政、荆轲——及《吴越春秋》所载要离的事迹，接着写道：
中国的刺客史……汉代以后，可歌可泣的事似乎不多，直到清末民初，才有新一轮的刺杀高潮……留学生和革命党纷纷投身洪流（如徐锡麟、秋瑾和汪精卫），现在的说法，是叫“和国际接轨”。
伯牛按。前几天刚写完一“套”专栏（分七次刊登），记张文祥刺杀两江总督事。文祥在同治九年一击成功，实可算“新一轮刺杀高潮”的滥觞；现在的说法，是叫“历史的先声”。呵呵。敝文曰：
自太史公首创《刺客列传》之体，大力表扬曹沫等五位刺客，其后，吾国史书中便再无显著的刺客事迹。秦以前之春秋、战国时代，群雄割据，无一定之尊，故匹夫行险以刺敌君，或有望于改变局势；秦汉以后，中央集权制度不断完善，帝王承继俱遵血统，即使能刺杀皇帝，不过令其子孙兄弟提早继位而已，并不足以改换天下。以此，刺客逐渐消亡。张文祥实为元、明以来六百年间出现的第一位刺客，其动机究竟如何，实在令人困惑。
依我的考究，文祥刺马，并无政治上的动机，纯为私人恩怨。李零先生或因此而故意过滤文祥的姓名，亦未可知。不过，李文末云：
刺杀是暴力的基础形式，刑律属于人身伤害罪，而且是故意伤害罪。
这句话并不严谨。譬如文祥，便“比照谋反叛逆，凌迟处死，并摘心致祭”；他的儿子也因此“缘坐”而被阉割，并发配新疆。这可比一般谋杀罪的绞、斩要难受得多。即在今日，若刺杀领导人，应该也要适用“颠覆政权”之类的条文，而非故意杀人吧？
